How to obtain the Mexico Temporary Vehicle Importation Permit
The most important things needed for legally getting you and your motorcycle into México are:
Valid Passport (valid until 90 days after you enter Mexico)
Valid Motorcycle Vehicle Registration in your name (same name as in passport)
Visa/MasterCard in the same name as your passport with credit or debit availability of approx $600
Temporary Vehicle Importation Permit (to be obtained online via Banjercito (see below)
$4.00 USD cash to cross the bridge from U.S. to Mexico
Here is how to apply for your Temporary Vehicle Permit Online
Step 1: Get the Folio INM Pre-authorization

Step 2: Fill out Vehicle Permit Form on Banjercito. You will need the info from the Folia form to complete this.

You need to upload clear images of your passport and motorcycle title (or current registration form) (format: PDF, 1 MB max)
You need to submit payment with a credit card listed in your name. The cost for the TIP is about $50 but the card will also be charged for a deposit of $500. This deposit will be returned to your card when you close your TIP at time of Mexico exit.
Pay the vehicle permit and deposit.
You will be prompted to enter your mailing address, however, the permit should be emailed to you within 10 days. Make sure you enter your correct email address.

The Immigration Pre-Authorization form is only valid for the online temporary permit application. Once you get your TIP, you will still need to make a quick stop at the border to get your visa from Mexico immigration.
